Georgie Badiel is the Founder of The Georgie Badiel Foundation which focuses on providing access to clean water and sanitation facilities and services to the people of Burkina Faso.

Born in Abidjan, Georgie was raised between Cote D’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. She was named Miss Burkina Faso 2003 and Miss Africa 2004. She is the co-author of The Water Princess and has always been a true citizen of the world. As a model, she loves working in fashion; as an activist, the Georgie Badiel Foundation is her passion.

As young girl, Georgie used to walk for 3 hours every day to fetch water. After traveling the world, Georgie went to visit her sister who was almost nine months pregnant. Her sister still needed to awaken between 2 am and 4 am to get water. Inspired by this experience and in response to the critical need for water and sanitation for tens of millions just like her sister, Georgie founded the Georgie Badiel Foundation in 2015.

In this episode, Georgie shares her one way ticket to a new Burkina Faso. She also shares the beauty of the country and its people.
